Life get’s busy and it becomes easy to forget about the importance of nutrition. When time is limited, nutritious snacks can be useful especially when you aren’t able to prepare a meal.

If you’re not used to healthy snacking, the idea can be intimidating, but many healthy snacks are so delicious and can leave you feeling much better! Having healthy snacks readily available will make resisting the temptation to grab unhealthy snacks much easier.

We have created a list of easy, on-the-go snacks, that will help you remain healthy and supply you with the nutrients you need!

Craving a crunch?

  • Vegetables are just one great option to fulfill this craving!  Clean and prepare some of your favorite vegetables in advance so they are easy to grab when you’re on the go.
  • Interested in something a little saltier? Popcorn, rice cakes, and whole-grain crackers are great, crunchy options.

Need something to curb your sweet tooth?

  • Put on your baking apron and prepare some fresh banana nut bread for the week!
  • Try throwing some grapes or a banana in the freezer, to create a totally unique taste and texture.
  • Fresh fruit has a natural sweetness, making it a great option when you’re really craving something sweet.
  • A handful of trail mix is a great way to satisfy a sweet tooth, but be careful, a handful is just the right serving.

Looking for a snack to satisfy?

  • Hummus is a great option to dip veggies or crackers in.  It is filled with vitamins and minerals and packed with health benefits.
  • Try crackers topped with tuna or salmon, a snack filled with omega 3’s which are great for your heart!
  • Have yogurt readily available or an individual serving of cheese, no preparation needed.
  • Peanut butter or almond butter topped on crackers or wheat toast can be so delicious, try adding it to an apple for some added fiber!
