National Nutrition Month is an annual campaign created by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Fun Fact: The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the world's largest organization of nutrition and dietetics practitioners founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1917, by a visionary group of women dedicated to helping the government conserve food and improve the public's health and nutrition during World War I.
During the month of March, everyone is invited to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits. Learning about nutrition isn't just for adults, educating our youth is so powerful! Try including your children in on the education this month! Explore other cultural traditions, incorporate new flavors into your meals, explain and learn about food groups, offer new healthy snacks!

Here are a few ways to celebrate National Nutrition Month in your home...
Shop for different cultural foods/ingredients and incorporate them into your meal planning for the month - Bonus, celebrate a cultural tradition along with creating the meal!
Try to incorporate foods from each of the five food groups each day (fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, protein)
Meal prep - Try to plan ahead for the following week and have your meals ready to cook!
Set a goal to cook at home for the majority of the month. Cooking at home has a handful of benefits.
Offer new snack ideas into your daily routine and try to make them fun! (Often times children will try new foods or retry foods if they appear different or if you allow them to be included in the process of creation)

During this webinar she offers many solutions to eliminate the intimidation around nutrition as well as breaks down barriers and gives easy solutions for how you can make changes to increase overall wellness starting today!
